faulty cable connections!
Refer to the CD jewel case insert (pull the card from the front
of the jewel case).
No Sound from speakers when pressing
left cursor arrow in lesson:
- Check speaker connections to sound card
(refer to your sound card manual).
- Check any switches on speakers.
- Check speaker volume controls in your sound card software.
No Recording (green light on mike button does not come on):
- Speak directly into the mike.
- Check the on/off switch on the mike if there is one.
- Check mike connections to sound card. It should be plugged into the mike input and not the line in position.
- Check that the sound card software has the mike selected (refer to sound card manual).
- Check that the mike volume control for the sound card is up.
- Check to see if the mike and speakers work with the recording software that comes with the sound card.
Poor sound recording:
- Sound card mike volume is set too high and distorting sound.
- Too many room noises – adjust mike detection level in Parotto’s set menu.
- Move the mike away from monitors and other electrical devices.
- Some portable computers have poor sound recording hardware but good playback hardware.
- Check that the sound card is set to CD quality (if possible).
The voice activation will not work in a noisy room:
- Use the space bar to stop the recording after you have finished speaking.
- Try adjusting the microphone detection level in Parotto’s set menu.
- Use a more directional microphone (an expensive mike is not needed).
- Do not move your hands on the microphone (all sounds are recorded).
