Creating Nihongo Parotto was a joint research effort by two university professors, Dr. Denton Hewgill and Dr. Hiroko Noro. The project started several years ago with D. Hewgill attempting to learn Japanese and observing that a computer with a sound card could be perfect assistant with endless patience.
Programming: D. Hewgill, a mathematician with a longtime interest in Japan and its culture.
Language Content: H. Noro, a Japanese professor with an interest in the potential of computers for language instruction.
Custom Art Work: Yoko Takashima, a native Japanese Fine Arts Masters student, now an instructor.
Native Japanese Speakers: H. Noro, Y. Takashima, Tadanabu Suzuki, Manami Iwata, Yuchi Sugiura.
